Art. 5 «SECRET» information

¹ Information is classified as «SECRET» if its disclosure to unauthorised persons may seriously harm national interests. The foregoing applies in particular to information, the disclosure of which may seriously compromise;

a.: the capacity to act of the Federal Assembly or Federal Council;
b.: the security of the population;
c.: the national economic supply or the security of nationally important management facilities and infrastructure;
d.: fulfilment of the duties of the Federal Administration, the Armed Forces or essential parts thereof;
e.: Switzerland’s foreign policy interests or international relations;
f.: the protection of sources or individuals or the secrecy of operational resources and methods of the intelligence services.

² Carriers of information classified as «SECRET» must be numbered.

Art. 5 GEHEIME Informationen

¹ Als GEHEIM werden Informationen klassifiziert, deren Kenntnisnahme durch Unberechtigte den Landesinteressen einen schweren Schaden zufügen kann. Dabei handelt es sich namentlich um Informationen, deren Bekanntwerden:

a.: die Handlungsfähigkeit der Bundesversammlung oder des Bundesrats schwerwiegend gefährden kann;
b.: die Sicherheit der Bevölkerung schwerwiegend gefährden kann;
c.: die wirtschaftliche Landesversorgung oder die Sicherheit von landeswichtigen Führungs- und Infrastrukturanlagen schwerwiegend gefährden kann;
d.: die Aufgabenerfüllung der Bundesverwaltung, der Armee oder wesentlicher Teile davon schwerwiegend gefährden kann;
e.: die aussenpolitischen Interessen oder die internationalen Beziehungen der Schweiz schwerwiegend gefährden kann;
f.: den Quellen- oder den Personenschutz oder die Geheimhaltung von operativen Mitteln und Methoden der Nachrichtendienste schwerwiegend gefährden kann.

² Träger von als GEHEIM klassifizierten Informationen sind zu nummerieren.
