1 Manufacturers must ensure that the conduct of the tests required for assessment of the hazards and risks of substances and preparations, the methods used and the assessment of test results are in accordance with the current state of scientific and technical knowledge.
1bis They must not carry out tests on vertebrates if the hazards can be assessed by other methods or if the test is not necessary from a scientific point of view.86
2 The FDHA, DETEC and the EAER may regulate technical details in their respective areas of competence.

1 Il fabbricante assicura che l’esecuzione degli esami necessari alla valutazione dei rischi e dei pericoli di sostanze e preparati e i metodi applicati, nonché la valutazione dei risultati degli esami corrispondano allo stato della scienza e della tecnica.
1bis Il fabbricante non può eseguire esperimenti su vertebrati se i pericoli possono essere valutati con altri metodi o se l’esperimento non è necessario dal punto di vista scientifico.87
2 Il DFI, il DATEC e il DEFR possono disciplinare dettagli tecnici nei rispettivi settori.
