1 Physicians and veterinary surgeons are obliged to use, dispense and prescribe narcotics only in the quantities necessary according to the recognised rules of medical science.
1bis Physicians and veterinary surgeons who dispense narcotics authorised as medicinal products for indications other than those for which they were authorised must report this within 30 days to the relevant cantonal authorities. They must provide all the information requested by the relevant cantonal authorities on the nature and purpose of the treatment.58
2 Paragraphs 1 and 1bis also apply to the use and dispensing of narcotics by dentists.59

1 I medici e i veterinari sono tenuti a usare, dispensare o prescrivere gli stupefacenti nella misura ammessa dalla scienza.
1bis I medici e i veterinari che dispensano o prescrivono stupefacenti omologati come medicamenti per indicazioni diverse da quelle ammesse devono notificarlo entro 30 giorni alle autorità cantonali competenti. Su richiesta di tali autorità, devono fornire tutte le informazioni necessarie sulla natura e lo scopo del trattamento.59
2 I capoversi 1 e 1bis si applicano anche ai dentisti per quanto concerne l’uso e la dispensazione di stupefacenti.60
