Art. 118 Health protection

1 The Confederation shall, within the scope of its powers, take measures for the protection of health.

2 It shall legislate on:

a.
the use of foodstuffs as well as therapeutic products, narcotics, organisms, chemicals and items that may be dangerous to health;
b.77
the combating of communicable, widespread or particularly dangerous human and animal diseases; it shall in particular prohibit any form of advertising for tobacco products from reaching children and adolescents;78*
c.
protection against ionising radiation.

Art. 118 Schutz der Gesundheit

1 Der Bund trifft im Rahmen seiner Zuständigkeiten Massnahmen zum Schutz der Gesundheit.

2 Er erlässt Vorschriften über:

a.
den Umgang mit Lebensmitteln sowie mit Heilmitteln, Betäubungsmitteln, Organismen, Chemikalien und Gegenständen, welche die Gesundheit gefährden können;
b.77
die Bekämpfung übertragbarer, stark verbreiteter oder bösartiger Krankheiten von Menschen und Tieren; er verbietet namentlich jede Art von Werbung für Tabakprodukte, die Kinder und Jugendliche erreicht;78*
c.
den Schutz vor ionisierenden Strahlen.
