Art. 13 Saat- und Pflanzgut, vegetatives Vermehrungsmaterial

1 Saat- und Pflanzgut und vegetatives Vermehrungsmaterial muss aus Biobetrieben stammen.

2 Bei Saatgut muss die Mutterpflanze und bei vegetativem Vermehrungsmaterial die Elternpflanze während mindestens einer Generation oder bei ausdauernden Kulturen für die Dauer von zwei Wachstumsperioden nach diesem Kapitel erzeugt worden sein.

3 Abweichend von Absatz 1 darf in-vitro vermehrtes, nach der Saatgut-Verordnung vom 7. Dezember 199866 zertifiziertes Pflanzmaterial verwendet werden.67

3bis Das WBF legt eine Liste der Arten oder Untergruppen von Arten fest, von welchen in der Schweiz ausreichende Mengen an Saatgut und vegetativem Vermehrungsmaterial aus biologischer Landwirtschaft und eine ausreichende Anzahl von Sorten aus biologischer Landwirtschaft vorhanden sind.68

4 Die Anforderungen der Saatgut-Verordnung bleiben vorbehalten.

Art. 13 Seeds, plants and plant propagating material

1 Seeds, plants and plant propagating material must come from organic holdings.

2 In the case of seeds, the mother plants, and in the case of plant propagating material, the parent plants must have been cultivated in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter for at least a generation or for the duration of two plant cycles in the case of perennial crops.

3 In derogation from paragraph 1, plant material which has been propagated in-vitro and certified in accordance with the Seeds Ordinance of 7 December 199866 may be used.67

3bis The EAER shall establish a list of species or sub-species of which there are sufficient quantities of organically produced seeds and plant propagating material and a sufficient number of organically produced varieties in Switzerland.68
