Art. 43 Abstention et motivation du vote

1 Aucun député n’est obligé de voter.

2 Chaque député peut motiver brièvement son vote ou son abstention aussi bien avant le vote sur l’ensemble qu’avant le vote final sur un projet d’acte ou avant un vote sur une disposition dont l’adoption requiert l’approbation de la majorité des députés, conformément à l’art. 159, al. 3, de la Constitution18.

Art. 43 Abstention and statement of reasons for the vote

1 No member of the Council is obliged to vote.

2 Prior to votes on entire bills and final votes on legislative bills, as well as votes in which the approval of a majority of members of the Council is required under Article 159 paragraph 3 of the Federal Constitution16, each member of the Council shall be entitled to state briefly the reasons for his or her vote or abstention.
