Art. 31 Distribution of profits

1 A dividend not exceeding six percent of the share capital shall be paid from the net profit.

2 One-third of any net profit remaining after the distribution of a dividend shall accrue to the Confederation and two-thirds to the cantons. The Department and the National Bank shall, for a specified period of time, agree on the amount of the annual profit distribution with the aim of smoothing these distributions in the medium term. The cantons shall be informed in advance.

3 The net profit accruing to the cantons shall be distributed in proportion to their resident population. The Federal Council shall regulate the details after having consulted the cantons.32

Art. 31 Distribuzione dell’utile

1 Sull’utile iscritto a bilancio è versato un dividendo pari al 6 per cento al massimo del capitale azionario.

2 L’importo dell’utile iscritto a bilancio che supera la distribuzione del dividendo è ripartito in ragione di un terzo alla Confederazione e di due terzi ai Cantoni. Il Dipartimento e la Banca nazionale stipulano per un determinato periodo il volume della ripartizione annuale dell’utile tra Confederazione e Cantoni per garantirne una distribuzione costante a medio termine. I Cantoni ne sono previamente informati.

3 La quota versata ai Cantoni è ripartita in funzione della loro popolazione residente. Il Consiglio federale disciplina i dettagli dopo aver sentito i Cantoni.33
