Art. 6 Random sampling

¹ Random sampling is the representative collection of data from a section of the population or from another group under investigation that is selected randomly according to scientific principles.

² It includes:

a.: a structure survey: random sample survey on attributes that are not contained in the Federal Register of Buildings and Dwellings or in the harmonised official federal registers of persons of the Confederation, the cantons or the communes;
b.: thematic random sample surveys: random sample surveys on various social, demographic and cultural subject areas.

³ The Federal Council shall issue more detailed regulations for each random sample survey and in particular on:

a.: the subject matter of the survey;
b.: the body responsible for the survey;
c.: the periodicity;
d.: the time;
e.: the conduct of the survey;
f.: the method.

Art. 6 Enquêtes par échantillonnage

¹ Les enquêtes par échantillonnage sont des enquêtes représentatives réalisées à partir d’un échantillon de personnes qui a été choisi de manière aléatoire selon une méthode scientifique, ou à partir d’un autre univers statistique.

² Elles comprennent:

a.: une enquête structurelle, qui est une enquête par échantillonnage destinée à relever des caractères ne figurant ni dans le Registre fédéral des bâtiments et des logements, ni dans les registres officiels harmonisés de personnes de la Confédération, des cantons et des communes;
b.: des enquêtes thématiques par échantillonnage, qui sont des enquêtes par échantillonnage portant sur différentes thématiques touchant à la société, à la démographie et à la culture.

³ Le Conseil fédéral édicte pour chaque enquête par échantillonnage des dispositions détaillées concernant notamment:

a.: son objet;
b.: l’organe qui la réalise;
c.: sa périodicité;
d.: le moment de sa réalisation;
e.: les modalités de sa réalisation;
f.: la méthode appliquée.
