Art. 1023 1. In general

1 A bill of exchange may be drawn:

on sight;

for a specified time after sight;

for a specified time after drawing;

on a specified date.

2 Bills of exchange with other maturity dates or with several consecutive maturity dates are void.

Art. 1020 1. Donneurs d’aval

1 Le paiement d’une lettre de change peut être garanti pour tout ou partie de son montant par un aval.

2 Cette garantie est fournie par un tiers ou même par un signataire de la lettre.
