Art. 166 Foreign relations and international treaties

1 The Federal Assembly shall participate in shaping foreign policy and supervise the maintenance of foreign relations.

2 It shall approve international treaties, with the exception of those that are concluded by the Federal Council under a statutory provision or an international treaty.

Art. 166 Relations avec l’étranger et traités internationaux

1 L’Assemblée fédérale participe à la définition de la politique extérieure et surveille les relations avec l’étranger.

2 Elle approuve les traités internationaux, à l’exception de ceux dont la conclusion relève de la seule compétence du Conseil fédéral en vertu d’une loi ou d’un traité international.
