Art. 38 Biological diversity of the forest

1 The Confederation shall provide financial assistance for measures that contribute to the conservation and improvement of biological diversity in the forest, in particular for:42

a.
the protection and maintenance of forest reserves and other ecologically valuable forest habitats;
b.43
the fostering of biodiversity and genetic diversity of the forest;
c.
the connectivity of forest habitats;
d.
the conservation of traditional forms of forest management;

3 The level of the financial assistance is based on the significance of the measures in relation to biological diversity and the effectiveness of the measures.

Art. 38 Biologische Vielfalt des Waldes

1 Der Bund gewährt den Kantonen auf der Grundlage von Programmvereinbarungen globale Finanzhilfen an Massnahmen, die zur Erhaltung und Verbesserung der biologischen Vielfalt im Wald beitragen, namentlich an:42

a.
den Schutz und Unterhalt von Waldreservaten und anderen ökologisch wertvollen Waldlebensräumen;
b.43
die Förderung der Artenvielfalt und der genetischen Vielfalt im Wald;
c.
die Vernetzung von Waldlebensräumen;
d.
die Erhaltung traditioneller Waldbewirtschaftungen;

3 Die Höhe der Finanzhilfen richtet sich nach der Bedeutung der Massnahmen für die biologische Vielfalt und nach der Wirksamkeit der Massnahmen.
