Art. 6b Official attestation

1 Persons who are resident abroad may only be granted an exemption permit for the acquisition of a weapon, an essential or specially designed weapon component or weapon accessory under Article 5 paragraph 1 if they submit an official attestation from their country of residence confirming that they are authorised to acquire such an object.14

2 Where there is doubt as to the authenticity of the attestation or the person is not able to submit such an attestation, the canton shall forward the file to the Central Office. The Central Office shall examine the attestation or may issue one if appropriate.

Art. 6b Amtliche Bestätigung

1 An Personen mit Wohnsitz im Ausland darf die Ausnahmebewilligung für den Erwerb einer Waffe, eines wesentlichen oder besonders konstruierten Waffenbestandteils oder eines Waffenzubehörs nach Artikel 5 Absatz 1 nur erteilt werden, wenn sie eine amtliche Bestätigung des Wohnsitzstaates vorlegen, wonach sie zum Erwerb des betreffenden Gegenstandes berechtigt sind.14

2 Bestehen Zweifel an der Echtheit der Bestätigung oder kann eine solche nicht beigebracht werden, so leitet der Kanton die Unterlagen an die Zentralstelle weiter. Diese überprüft die Bestätigung oder kann gegebenenfalls eine solche erteilen.
